Designed to meet the needs of Muslim individuals, families, and businesses, this program ensures that your health coverage remains Sharia-compliant, free from uncertainty (Gharar) and interest (Riba), while providing comprehensive health benefits at competitive rates.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for our Halal Health Insurance Plan, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have provincial health insurance (e.g., OHIP in Ontario).
  • No medical exams required for enrollment.
  • Maximum age limit: 80 years old.
  • Individuals can enroll in the Enhanced Plan at $148 per month per person (family discounts apply).
  • Organizations can opt for different plans: Standard (20% cheaper), Enhanced, or Ultimate (20% more expensive).
  • Organizations with over 10 employees can offer multiple plan options to different staff segments.
  • A $250 annual membership fee applies for organizations with fewer than 25 employees, which includes access to HR support, tax clinics, and strategy coaching.

How to Apply

For Individuals: Attach a spreadsheet including:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Full Residential Address
  • Province of Health Card
  • Relationship to Primary Applicant
  • Student Status (if applicable, for ages 18-25)
  • Marital Status
  • If any family member is already receiving health benefits, include them in the list and mark them as exempt.

For Organizations: Include the above for each staff member, plus:

  • Role within the organization
  • Date of joining the insurance plan
  • Waiting period (if applicable, standard is 3-6 months for new employees)
  • Salary & weekly working hours (only required for halal pension or long-term disability add-ons)
  • Proof of registration (e.g., Articles of Incorporation or Charitable Status)

📌 Important Note for Organizations:

  • Full-time employees must have at least 25% of their premium covered by the employer (as per Ontario law).
  • Part-time staff, volunteers, and unpaid directors may be fully covered by the organization or pay their own premium.
  • Once enrolled, members can only be removed once per year. If rejoining, they must pay past dues or commit to a six-month coverage period with limited benefits.
