Musalla Illegally Shutdown!

Our Musalla is in Crisis, but every crisis is also an opportunity to do good.

We need to raise $60,000 for immediate legal and logistical needs.

The landlord illegally went ahead and evicted us, despite our payment of rent upfront for three extra months.

Why Support Alshareef Islamic Centre?

Since 2023 we have been the only Muslim prayer space in Ottawa that is open 24/7. Now it's closed, there isn't a single Musalla that's truly doors open 24/7.
In Ramadan, we served iftar daily, serving over 1800 meals of Iftar. If we don't have a place this Ramadan, dozens of people won't find their daily Iftar.
No other mosque of Islamic Centre within 5 km radius. We have dozens of community members without cars, including 8 Rohingya families we settled right across from us.
We the only provider for religious and education services to over 400 Muslims on weekly basis, including 150 families.
Hundreds of people attend our weekly Jumua prayers, currently booking at the Algonquin College gym across the street.

Your Donations at Work

Since 2023, Alshareef Islamic Centre has hosted over 300 classes, 3000 iftars meals, 25 marriages, helped over 50 Zakat cases, and supported 4 new converts to Islam.

What will this fund be used for?

This fund is for covering the operation costs for the year 2026. It covers Rent. As such, it is only based on donations, and is not Zakat eligible. For your zakat, consider giving to our programs through this link.

Will all my donation be used for this?

There is a 3% processing fee for donating by a card online through this form. If you wish for 100% of your donation to be delivered for the cause, consider sending an interac e-transfer to donate@sirajinstitute.org, or contact us for details on how to send a bank wire.
